MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance

  • Investigate software and hardware issues that have been registered using the school ticket system and work with 2nd line support where necessary to put solutions in place
  • Deploy new software and updates and ensure that they run effectively for all users
  • Maintain the current Staff Portal (Office 365/SharePoint) using assistance from 2nd line support where necessary
  • Maintain, replace or dispose of devices having regard to data protection and environmental good practice
  • Work with the ICT strategy manager and 2nd line support to ensure that a reliable and fast internet connection is always available
  • Monitor and maintain stocks of ICT consumables
  • Work with 2nd line support on the maintenance and update of the school’s website and social media
  • Assist in the implementation of the school’s policies and procedures regarding online safety
  • Work with the site manager in the use of CCTV to maintain security
  • Maintain and update the ICT asset register
  • Maintain and update the information screen in the front reception area
  • Monitor and manage the use of paper resources so as to minimise cost and environmental impact

Development

  • Work with the ICT strategy manager in implementing aspects of the school’s ICT development plan
  • Manage the introduction of new devices to the network
  • Continue the development and deployment of the schools Pupil Portal (Office 365/SharePoint) using assistance from the 2nd line support when necessary
  • Provide the ICT strategy manager with data relevant to the evaluation of the effectiveness with which ICT resources are deployed in the school

Support (staff and pupils)

  • Provide support to pupils in computing lessons
  • Make use of both incidental and structured opportunities to contribute to the development of staff expertise and confidence in ICT use
  • To represent the school in a positive manner
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities which may be reasonably required by the Headteacher.
