Summary

We are looking for enthusiastic lifeguards who have a curent NPLQ.  The ideal candidates will be flexible with working days/evenings and hours. We  have a current requirement for someone interested in working on a Sunday morning.   The successful candidates will be passionate about customer service providing a safe and fun environment for our customers.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children which will be reflected throughout recruitment. The selected candidate will be required to provide suitable references and undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check before taking up the post.

Key Objectives

While reporting to the Pool Manager:

1. To ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all users of the Centre.

2. To maintain vigilant supervision of pool users and ensure their safety at all times.

3. To administer first aid, effect pool rescues and carry out resuscitation as necessary.

4. To comply with the Pool’s Health and Safety procedures at all times.

5. To deal with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

6. To report any matter of concern to the Pool Manager immediately.

7. To carry out cleaning duties as necessary.

8. To wear the prescribed staff uniform at all times.

9. To wear the personal protective equipment provided when necessary during the course of your duties.

10. To carry out patrols of the Pool and changing facilities.

11. To carry out pool tests to ensure good water quality.

12. To prepare activity areas involving the setting up/dismantling of equipment.

13. To ensure that all Pool equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use.

14. To report any maintenance issues using the appropriate procedures.

15. To assist the Pool Manager with any tasks involved in the operation of the Pool.

16. To maintain any suggested training requirements.

17. To continually meet the lifeguard key performance indicators and competency standards through regular monthly staff training.

          Health and Safety:

          As a member of staff you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of your colleagues and customers using the facilities in which you work; you must therefore have knowledge of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and relevant instructions to your area of work. Any matter which you consider requires attention in this respect is your responsibility to report to your manager following the correct procedures, or to the Health and Safety Manager. Copies of the current Health & Safety Policy and Safety Procedures are available in the Pool Building.

          Alfriston pool is a beautiful newly built facility, with a fast growing swim school.  We are looking for enthusiastic swimming teachers, who have a level 2 teaching qualification and a pool reach rescue qualification.  The successful candidates will be passionate about teaching to a high standard, achieving results, whilst providing a safe and fun environment for our customers.
